Mental Health...Just checking in.

Things are tough right now. It may feel harder than ever to ask how someone is actually feeling or to start a conversation about their mental health. But sometimes — you just have to ask.
Introducing Just Checking In: ten simple questions to check-in with your friends and family. You can do this over the phone, on FaceTime, or even six feet apart — and it only takes ten minutes.
A few quick things to keep in mind:
Spend as much time as you want on each question.
Stay engaged with follow-up questions.
Keep things judgment-free.
You don’t have to be an expert, you just have to listen.
Stay in touch after, and don’t be afraid to connect them to resources.
I’d explain more, but…you get it.
Questions
How are you feeling today, really? Physically and mentally.
What’s taking up most of your headspace right now?
What was your last full meal, and have you been drinking enough water?
How have you been sleeping?
What have you been doing for exercise?
What did you do today that made you feel good?
What’s something you can do today that would be good for you?
What’s something you’re looking forward to in the next few days?
What’s something we can do together this week, even if we’re apart?
What are you grateful for right now?
You did it! Wasn’t that nice? Now pick someone to call tomorrow and pay it forward.
Keep it going
You can use these same questions with every person in your life, multiple times.
Check-in with yourself
Don’t forget that this check-in can work on your own, too! You can’t help other people if you aren’t checking-in with yourself, so go ahead and ask yourself these questions and answer honestly.
Some times, your friends just need to know you care.
We now return you to your regularly scheduled EV arguments and petty bickerings.

Kind of sucks to think, "I should give my buddy so and so a call and see how they have been" only to find that their PTSD got the best of them and they have been dead for the last couple of months.
I understand that your post was in jest but the topic is a bit more serious than that. If it isn't welcome here, I will ask an admin to have it removed."Some people find it easier to be conceited rather than correct."

Seems like you've had a ton on your plate as well. So yes, it is easy to get sidetracked and when you catch your breath it's been 6-8 months.

Many thanks @ZLTFUL for posting this.
Funny story, I was thinking about you just this morning and wondering how you were, even though we’ve never really had any direct interactions, so sending a DM would have been “awkward”.
This place can be brutal, and so can life in general. The fact that you came back to post this thread hopefully means that you are in a better place than you were not so long ago.
We need less hate and judgmental attitudes on the Polk forum.
We’ve already driven so many people away, and who knows what mental issues they were going through at the time. We’ve had women accused of being men. We’ve had men accused of being women. Some have just been trolled into banning themselves or goaded into getting banned.
Just be kind. We’re all in this together.
Nice to hear from you, bud! 🤜 🤛Alea jacta est! -
Maybe this is as good a time as any to remind everyone of your signature:"Unwad those panties and have a good time man. We're all here to help each other, no matter how it might appear."Alea jacta est!

I pray His peace upon you.

Wasn't really in jest nor making fun of anything.
The exactly how I'd talk to my friends if they were having a hard time.
My door is always open, my phone is always on, my coffee is always hot and my beer is always cold.
You don't need an invite, you don't even need to say anything.
Even if you show up and I'm getting ready to head out somewhere, guess what broseph, you're comin' for a ride.
If not, grab a beer, hide from the world for a bit and just be in a place that doesn't care about anything but the pleasure of your company.
I might be working on something but that's my solace, my happy place and I can do that while listening to your problems.
You want to come over and jabber my ear off about your problems, go ahead, I got another one.
You just want to sit by the lake in silence and just watch the dragonflies in the setting sun, that's cool too.
You want help or advice, I got that in droves.
If you call me friend you have no reason to feel alone or like you have no where to turn because I'm here.
Ain't no thang, brochaco.
I got yer back.Expert Moron Extraordinaire

Yeah but you'd have to leave Canuckistania to find out and once Comrade Trudeau finds out where you've been, they might not let you back in!

My door is always open too. But since I live in East Bumble-f*ck and no one in their right mind wants to drive to the end of the LI Expressway.... I'm pretty sure emails or texts will have to suffice!
But those are available too.
Thanks for this thread @ZLTFUL, reminds me I got a lifetime friend in Texas I haven't talked to in too long. So, are you willing to put forth a little effort or are you happy sitting in your skeptical poo pile?
