Weak midrange on CS400i center speaker

As you are facing the speaker, the right midrange speaker is extremely weak. It is putting out sound, but barely. I just bought two replacement speakers (MW7204) on eBay (in case the other one ever failed) but both are performing exactly the same, barely any audio, but there is some. The tweeter was weak also, but I just replaced it with a brand new one, and although I haven't done any extensive testing yet because of the midrange, it does appear to be performing adequately.
I'm guessing the problem must now be in the crossover. Any tips on what to look for?

Strange that they would use the same drivers then, but that would explain the apparent sound difference between the two. Thanks!

check your setup menu in your receiver, you can always boost the center levels . Plus some may even have crossover adj. for the center channel. Also consider the media your using. Some movies on disc just don't proportion the sound right and the center always gets the short straw.

Thanks, I had already adjusted the center channel settings, but good tip. Replacing the tweeter seems to have helped the overall clarity of the speaker. The original tweeter was weak as well. It was putting out sound, but you really had to put your ear right over it to hear it. When I removed it the coil separated from the magnet, and there was ferrofluid in the gap, not sure if that was problem or not.

Older ferro fluid tweeters can gum up over time and may need an oil change so to speak.

I've never taken the time to see exactly how the ferrofluid works, I always assumed that it I saw it the patient had already bled out. There is a good video of a guy replacing it in a KEF tweeter on Youtube that explained it fairly well.
Thanks for all of the help and tips everyone!
