We just needed to find out if John L had the skin to put up with our nonsense
So I revisited a couple old movies Boiler Room, and Unbreakable.
Cool thing about Unbreakable was I found out that Shyamalan wrote a couple sequels I've never seen nor even knew existed. Split, and Glass in which Glass tied everything together.2-channel: Modwright KWI-200 Integrated, Dynaudio C1-II Signatures

I only consider units that have an all-metal faceplate and build, so that comes down to another UB9000 or perhaps a Revon or Magnetar; I wish the Oppo UDP-203s were still being built. I couldn't get a new one when I was shopping for a UHD player because the company had already closed shop, but I did manage to snag a clone of the 203, Cambridge's CXUHD, which ended up developing a nasty ticking noise when I played DVDs.
Ended up getting the Panny 9000 because of it. -
I'm probably not going to be much help, I use a PS5 for video disc playback.

Looks like a decent player.
If you're looking for a better player the 900 looks to be a beast of a player at double the price. -
Yeah, thanks pit -- I know about the Magnetar. All these units -- the Cambridge CXUHD, Reavon, Magnetar -- are all Oppo clones, even using the MediaTek processor their UDP-203 and 205 players utilized. I still have one of these clones, the Cambridge, in storage because I couldn't snag an Oppo before the company closed their player operations, and this was the next best thing...but it unfortunately developed a nasty ticking noise when playing DVDs that they could never fix, even after I sent it back three times under warranty.
I'm a bit skeptical about going with another Oppo clone for this reason, and I don't really like the aesthetics of the Magnetars. The 900 is way out of our budget and I truly can't stand the chessboard-styled front face. -
