His surgery was due to take 6 to 8 hours today. Even if he is out of it I'm sure he won't be posting tonight.

Short and sweet version. Surgery went as well as can be expected but I advise nobody to get hernia repair done at the same time like I did. I cough even a little bit and the pain is excruciating.
I liked your comment earlier, but then immediately unliked it, because you might have thought that I liked it because your pain was excruciating. But now that I see others liked your comment, I reliked it. So I liked it twice as much as the others.

I had a real good joke to help you keep your spirit up about a priest, a rabi, and an Iman who walked into a bar, but I guess it'll have to wait a little bit until you're 100%.

Good to hear you're doing good 👍🙏✝️💪💯

PS F1's recommenation for Demerol is 👍 .
    Oxy is good, too.

Having been through hernia surgery myself many years ago I can't imagine doing that on top of what you're already going through. The slightest cough was incredibly painful and a sneeze may well have killed me. I slept in a recliner for a couple weeks because I could not get up without assistance from the power recliner. The pills were a Godsend for the pain but I truly hated the way they made me feel otherwise. Best of luck to you in your recovery.

    Abdominal pain after surgery sucks!

I have been there a bunch of times. One time an orderly said to me after I woke up from one of my hernia surgeries, you can't be in pain, there are no nerves there. :o>:)

I was in a recovery room with a bunch of patients and their families after that one. That was weird but it was what it was. Well, I let her know what I thought about her opinion and everybody looked at me.
They gave me a shot of something real good and I then came home. The rest was eased with hydro for a week or three.

I felt like I had given birth through my naval. :s

I feel for you, John. Rest easy. A loving wife is GREAT to have by your side.

He is still in a plethora of pain and there are "complications" with getting the decent stuff to alleviate some of that pain. Grrr...

That's just wrong to let him suffer ANY pain.

I met a Marine in an Orthopedic facility during a shoulder problem I had. We talked a bit while we waited to check out from our visits.

He had been in a Humvee that was blown up in Iraq. He had back pain from hell he said and this town or the military wouldn't give him what he needed to ease the pain he was having.

Marines that can't get help to get through for a while?! >:)
