Apple Ear Buds

Not an exciting topic but headphones and ear buds are a hot topic today, not so much for me.

I picked up a new set of ear buds as I currently was using a pretty old pair of Beats Bluetooth over the ears and they are starting to not hold a charge for very long. I can get through a workout with them but if I don't charge them after every gym trip, they could go out on me mid workout next time.

So I decided to get some new ones. I went to Best Buy and to my surprise, the selection wasn't that big. Last time I went there to look at head phones with my Son, they had so many it was confusing.

Apple Ear Buds are rated pretty high and I figured for $249 which is a very average price to pay for decent ones, I got them.

I got the Apple Ear bud Pro's. What I like about these vs the other 2 offerings is you can change the in ear rubber piece so they fit correctly.

I actually think they are pretty nice. They are better than the Beats ones I had prior and they link up with my iPhone 15 Pro Max much faster and easier then the Beats did. I constantly had to go into Bluetooth settings, click on them in the Bluetooth list and try a few times to get them to work. The Apple ones however, as soon as I take them out of the cast and put them in my ears, they are linking and working. Pretty cool.

Also if I remove them from my ears and put them back in the case, they disconnect. That's pretty cool 2. The Beats ones didn't do that unless I turned them off which I would forget to do and then I would wonder why my iPhone sound wasn't working LOL.

Anyway, they are not so called audiophile level sounding, but for working out at the Gym or going on a bike ride, they are good enough for me. I didn't spend a small fortune on them so that's a plus as well.

If you don't learn to call them Air Pods, all the Apple fanatics will shame you.

Um, hate to say this, but if you paid $249 for them, go and try to price match the current, lower price.

They have been marked down to $190 or less for the last few weeks. The 3rd gen is coming out soon, so they are marked down at most retailers. Amazon ran a Prime deal for $169 during their Prime Days.
Yeah, my Apple using kids swear by the AirPod Pros. Best thing under the sun to them. I perfer my Samsung Buds2 Pro, but that is because they work better with my Galaxy phone.

I used to watch one of my friends get ripped mercilessly by his kids. One day, because my friend was just taking it like a passive little b, I ripped on one of his boys, saying that the only reason he has his $250 soccer cleats, games and everything else he wants with no sense of the value of a dollar, etc. is because his dad sacrifices for them and keeps driving that weak 2wd Tacoma instead of buying the truck he really wants.

    My speech changed nothing, lol

Apple AirPods are fantastic for their diminutive size.

They practically pair themselves just by bringing an iPhone or iPad close to them. There’s no searching in settings for local Bluetooth devices in pairing mode or any of that. Basically a single click operation.

Sound wise, they are also surprising effective.

I also have a full-sized pair of Beats Studio Pro headphones (which use the same pairing method, since Apple bought Beats years ago) and although they are definitely better at keeping out ambient noise, the difference is not a great as you might expect given the difference in size.

Also, you can buy replacement tips for the AirPods Pro for $10 delivered to your door in 48 hours for free.

I still use both regularly. The Beats Studio Pro have a much longer battery life.
    Alea jacta est!

I've been very happy with mine. I love the quick connect. Sound quality now that I have been listening to them is very decent. The ability to switch between Noise cancellation and no noise cancellation is brilliant. I can seal myself away from the world or I can hear things going on around me. I really like that feature.

I almost can't handle a phone call or webex meeting without mine. Though for worktime music, I still prefer wired earbuds into my PC via an AQ Dragonfly Cobalt DAC.

Apple's are not the absolute last word in sound quality but they don't sound bad either. I think they fit the bill perfectly for me. I have been using them and they are a very well rounded ear bud
