Wow, didn't expect to see this tonight, very sad news indeed. Our deepest condolences for his family and friends. Dave helped me a couple times with inductor coils and getting them unwound, very cool guy to speak with. Nice to know that his contributions to not only this forum, but to my speakers sounding WONDERFUL, and to many others as well. Dave will be missed, R.I.P sir.

May your soul Rest in Heavenly Peace David Shirley.
Thousands of posts here will never be enough to describe the goodness of this man.

Dave was the first Forum Member that I had contact with before I joined the Forum. My original contact with him occurred through eBay. After I created my Polk Account, it would not activate. Dave contacted SeleniumFalcon to help me become a member. Dave was always so helpful and not a bit stingy with his knowledge.

Ditto. I appreciate all his insight and humor as well. He answered a few questions for me when I started out here and his responses were always gentlemanly and concise, a rare combo these days.

Dave chimed-in with advice on my very first post here on the forum. RIP, and may God bless his spirit and his family.

RIP David. Very Sad news. David helped so many people out & he would walk you thru a project step by step. I had David do many non Polk speaker repairs & he would push me into challenging myself to do projects that I didn't think I could do. He will be missed. My condolences to his family & friends. RIP David. Randy

    Thanks for letting everyone know.
It’s odd but I was thinking about him about a couple of week ago. I hadn’t talked to him in several years since retiring and moving. Now I wish I had reached out sooner.

Would I have met Dave at PF '12? Didn't have any direct forum interaction (that I remember) but always read his posts.

Hopefully, his sister/family/close friends see this thread and it brings a smile at what is, no doubt, a difficult time. the overwhelming appreciation, admiration and unanimous respect shared, here, is a confirmation of what they must already know.

Best wishes to family and friends. Goodbye, Dave.

So sorry to hear. I spoke to Dave on a few occasions and he was always so helpful over the phone giving me free advice on a couple different SDA crossovers over the years. He was a valued member of the forum and definitely was helpful to me on my audio journey.

    RIP
