CARDAS speaker jumpers

I don't know....maybe I just don't get it, but WTF ??? This is the second set of these I've seen lately for the same price. I realize it's got 'the name' but what could these possibly be made of to warrant this kind of price? Maybe it's just the picture but the spades don't even look gold plated. These couldn't possibly have cost more than a few bucks to make.

    Cardas Golden Section Stranding magic extends to custom made jumper cables for Bi-Wired systems. If you are not using Bi-Wired speaker cables, at least use these Golden Section Jumpers. 11 awg, terminated with Cardas Rhodium spades, sold in sets

    If I ever buy some of Cardas' more expensive single run speaker cables with some biwirable speakers, I surely wouldn't cheap out on the jumpers and would probably pick some of these up. Now on the other hand, if I were running some cheap cables, these just don't make sense.

    to expensive.. just for jumpers.. you could make yourself for about $6 in parts.

    Shoot, ya'll think that is expensive? The Transparent or Acoustic Zen jumpers retail for like $150 / set for two speakers.

    It is ridiculous the price of these things nowadays. When 10 inch jumpers cost 25 percent the cost of 8 foot runs. I would imagine that most of the cost is in labor though as soldering is evident in the jumpers that I have, but still...

    I would try to keep the same wire as the mains however for the jumpers if at all possible.

    Exactly,
    whatever your mainwires are. you should use the matching jumpers.If your wire is cheap,your jumpers will be cheap.

    Why not bi wire instead?

    Well like I said.....maybe I just don't get it. And, not to start an argument, but for discussion's sake, in a DBT I'd be highly surprised if anyone could tell the difference between the copper CARDAS jumpers and the 'Golden Section Stranding' jumpers, whatever the hell that means :rolleyes:
    There have been DBT's using Home Depot zip cord and expensive custom speaker wire where no one could tell the difference so how any well constructed and terminated jumpers could make an audible difference is beyond me. I guess I'm just a pessimist when it comes to things like this.

    i bi wire my speakers.. so i don't have to worrry about jumpers anymore. simple, clean and easy to understand. NO MORE JUMPERS!!

    this is my bottom line with wire or any other part of a system.


    A system is only as good as it's weakest link.If you choose to let it be the wire,then suffer your system will.

    I bi-wire my SDA's with MIT Shotguns's and use MIT jumpers!!!
