OK, ive basically narrowed it down to this as the system that will sound the best but not have to be driven with a lot of power.
-2 RTi70's (Floorstanders)
-2 FXi5's
-1 CSi5
-1 20-39PCi Sub (SWEET!?)
Could I drive all this with a Denon 1804? Would I have to use a 3804?????
Whatcha' think?

That's a great setup. You shouldn't have any problems drving them with an 1804.

omgogmomgmg are you seriouss???????????!!! IM SO FRICKIN HAPPY! I FINNALLY FOUND MY SYSTEM! YEAH! YEAH FU**IN A B**CH! WOOO Ive been looking so long. Configured so many times. Finally found it. An easily driven great sounding system.
calming down........Just a question, Would the 3083 Receiver make any diff in sound quality? or would it just be a waste of money.......?I = NOOOOOOoooooo000b -
-
The 3803 would give you a little more power, some better connectivity options, but that's about it.
-
It wouldn't be a waste of money. It has more power and will drive everything easier. BTW, the speaker choice is excellent. You'd REALLY dig that lineup. No ****...:D
-
sooo, it would make a diff in sound ? I might not even turn these up that loud, im in like a 10' X 10' room lol.
I = 13 (14 in 3 months)
Gotta be the youngest guy on these fourms lol. I hope that wont discourage anyone from selling me their equiptment.I = NOOOOOOoooooo000b -
you'll get more of an impact with the 3803
-
-
a little. You would have to double the power to get a real impact. 13 huh? You should get to know Sid, He'll school you proper, just don't listen to that stacking crap!;)
-
I might post a WTB for a pair of new/perfect black RTi70's soon. So the upgrade to the 3084 or whatever wont be the $200 improvement i would pay for?I = NOOOOOOoooooo000b
-
instead of the rti70's, why don't you get a pair of the rti6's, or the rti8's from circuit city? a lot of stores are clearing them out at great prices....or....
racer is selling a pair of his rti6's for only $150. if i were u, i'd jump all over this. they're great speakers and would be a better match with the other speakers you're getting -
Would the RTi8's really sound better than the RTi70's? They dont look as cool. lol. I mean comon chix love the RTi70's haha.I = NOOOOOOoooooo000b
-
Oh man - a little SID all over again!!!!!
OK - How old are ya AintJoM0mma?????
Try not to pick gear just for looking COOL.......
At least your into chix right!!!!! -
The RTi8s push more base than the RTi70s. I agree on looks, the RTi8s have that techno-plastic crap design.Win7 Media Center -> Onkyo TXSR702 -> Polk Rti70
-
Base - oh boy!
-
The 8's would match your other speakers better. The 3803 would be a huge improvement in sound because of it's better pre section.
-
I'm not worried about bass* . Im getting a nice seprate sub. Now people are saying the 3083 will make a huge improvement, who to belive. And someone asked me my age i am 13 bieatch
Dont belive me? Ill take a pic if you want hahaI = NOOOOOOoooooo000b -

Note: In my quest for a matching center channel to my R50s, I tried a CSi5. I also had an RTi8 for a while as my rear center until I got my R50.

As long as your constructing your "dream" system you should just throw in the 3083 and kick up that sub to the PLUS. You get what you pay for in this hobby - that is how things are weighed.

Never mind (post deleted).Win7 Media Center -> Onkyo TXSR702 -> Polk Rti70

I think you're definitely on the right track with that system. What I want to know is where did you get all the money? You sound like one lucky kid if you ask me. :cool:Home:

Jesus christ I dont have $1200 just to spend on a receiver and a sub! YOUR TRYIN TO RUIN ME MAN!
I say again : 10' X 10' room, my walls are already going to be shaking with the 20-39 PCi, nevermind i just remembered ebay. Maybe I could find a plus sub for the price of a pci hmmmI = NOOOOOOoooooo000b -
Hey would the system in my first post except with rti8's be better or:
-2 RTi70's or RT800i's (Whats the difference?)
-2 f/x500i or f/x1000's
-1 CS400i
-1 SVS 20-39 (plus or pci, havent decided)
?
Of course, chix will dig this one more
but im guessing the highs are gonna be worse, I think ill just stick with my one system.
WILL THE RTI8's REALLY MATCH THAT MUCH MORE!?I = NOOOOOOoooooo000b -
Have you considered NAD for a receiver?
You can get a T742 at Saturday Audio for $399 brand new. They are built like tanks and have a very warm, musical sonic quality - their motto is "music first" unlike most AV receivers. I went through Yamaha, HK, Onkyo, and yes even Denon (2803) each for a month in my home - then I ordered a NAD - hands down the winner in terms of power, musicality and tonal presentation.
I now have lsi's but used it with rti's and the NAD was in my opinion the best match for that series. They warmed the sound of the tri-lam tweeters that could otherwise be a bit harsh.

LSI7 x 3 (fronts)
rt25i x 2 (surrounds)
SVS PB-10 NSD
Harmon Kardon 235 pre/pro
NAD amps

If you want to go with RTi70's, jdhdiggs has a matching centre speaker for it, the CSi40. I believe he is asking $230 shipped.
Like someone already said, you would be happy with the RTi6's as well. For $150 those are a good value. Then you could go with CSi5 as the centre. -

EDIT: Also, this is a "dream" system for him right now......he's 13, and things will change, so let's not try to have him breakin the bank with his first rig......comment comment comment comment. bitchy. -
Woah. I may be 13 but I know more about speakers than your avarage person. And I listen to my music, not like some other kids that just listen to rap and bs. So dont judge me by age. I want a system that will last me. And if the guy says a NAD receiver would be a better match I will get a NAD receiver.I = NOOOOOOoooooo000b

The comment I made about your age is just that your tastes WILL change, and getting a receiver that's more biased towards a certain sound would be pointless IMO.
The biggest part about this is that YOU need to go and listen to some of the options out there that people are suggesting. What happens if you take someone elses advice and you hate the overall sound of your system?comment comment comment comment. bitchy.
