PSW300 Sub Feedback Hum with Sub Cable

I have a PSW300 Subwoofer that I have started to get a feedback hum when using a subwoofer cable hooked up to the Line Level inputs. This feedback hum can be experienced even when the stereo side of the subwoofer cable is not hooked up to the stereo. The sound also happens immediately when the power is on and the tip of the subwoofer cable tip comes into contact with the contact on the inside of the sub connector. Any idea if this means there is something wrong with my sub? As the hum is constant when on and the sub cable is hooked up, I haven't been able to use it for some time and miss those LFEs. Thanks.

    Hello,
From your description it is likely there is a problem with the subwoofer's bass amplifier. Maybe related to the RCA sockets and a lack of grounding. Any local electronic service shop should be able to troubleshoot the problem and repair it. those kinds of problems are fairly common.
