Signature Elite ES60 sound metallic

I bought a pair of ES60 two days ago.
They sound too metallic. The higher and mid frequencies are really annoying in some cases.
The bass are good.
So far they have only worked for about 15 hours.
Do they perhaps need a lot of running in or are they just that metal?
Thanks

So, my first thought is that's a 40wpc tube amp.. Might be hitting some compression type of distortion in the treble frequencies, depending on how deep you're going on the volume knob.

    I use very low volume.
Tomorrow I'll try another ampli (Cambridge Audio 540r) but I think that the Jadis sound is warm.
    Any other idea?

It is really hard to diagnose what you are describing without hearing the setup. Have you tried other speakers on the system

What kind of speakers were you using before the ES60?
  • I used AR 3a before without problem.
Do you think that after a lot hours of running it will improve sound?
I listen classical music and the sound of violin is terribile.
The treble control of Amplifier not help

I've heard some older acoustic research speakers and depending on the genre of music.. Wouldn't be surprised if those were better to you then the Polks

    AR 3a measurements:

    S60 measurements (purple trace):

Some major differences there in the way high frequency information is going to be reproduced.

Adding to...having owned the AR3 a very long time ago I can tell you the high end isn't there.
