Me physically? No, but yes they were made at the shop, I don’t get the play time on the floor like I did a few years ago, my job is more on the front end of things these days (General Manager) or a WIT if you will. (Whatever It Takes) There are times I miss being on the floor, but I like being involved up front as well, but the days you have to deal with stupid stuff you question it.. LOL!!

Yep, this has been my favorite VH album since it’s release, I was young, and walked to Budget Tapes & Records the day it was released, I was blown away by it as soon as the needle dropped. Van Halen David Lee Roth era lives in my blood stream, along with the Bon Scott era of AC/DC. I can not live without it, they are my alcohol, my tobacco, my cocaine, my meth, There is no 12 step program.. -

I recall as well "dropping the needle" on Fair Warning back in '81 (with my new to me, former demo RTA-12's, Kenwood dual-mono amp, Dual turntable, Shure V-15 cartridge). I was living in a house (animal house, lol) with 6 mechanical engineering roomates, one of whom had just brought home the album. Those first seconds - hearing the EVH flamethrower, and you realized what you were about to get. I also prefer the DLR era of VH. DLR had a fine voice and I think in different eras/circumstances he could have had a successful singing career in other musical genres. -
I meant to write as well... If you dissect Mean Street, like many VH tunes (and other great rock tunes for that matter) it has that wicked counter-melody (EVH's lead guitar) alongside a strong vocal melody. It has attitude and it just works.

Fair Warning and Women and children first are both EXCELLENT albums start to finish, my two favorite in the DLR era. With the exception of diver down (which I rate dead last in preference) all the rest are pretty damn good. I'm not discounting the Sammy era they also had some fine work, For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge, Balance and OU812 rounding out that era.

If I didn't know who made them I'd have to say they have Larry written all over them. Good job buddyPolitical Correctness'.........defined
