Been running the XS-8TL's with this amp for better part of the last week with my phone DAC and FLAC files.
Barely gets warm running them half volume on the dial.

I took the dial back off and reset it to 6'oclock being zero.

WAF is at 100% too as opposed to the amp and CD player in the living room.

Here's a pic where I removed the fan so you can see direct airflow path to heatsink radiator.
I also added 3/8" height rubber feet

    Question...

In the interim of building another one of these amps, I'd like to add a DAC to my EliteDesk micro 705 so I can stream with better sound quality than it's factory speaker-out 3.5mm port. It does not have the resolution of my LG V60 with internal DAC. The PC does have USB 3.0 ports available.
    What to do...

    Ideas welcomed as always..

I have a question/quiz for you actually. Without googling, do you know which Polk Audio speaker(s) came new with a metal phase plug?

Maybe one of their Peerless or Audax driver's :D

My B&0's midrange improved considerably with them as well, I will plug the CX-30's when I get the time.... :)

I'd add true phase plugs on the mids of the 703's also....

Color me impressed. More detail and separation of vocals/instruments with these little jewels...Is there a break-in time with these opamps? Hard to believe it gets any better.

This is my working prototype. What do you suggest on my next build?

I left them longer just for this purpose of quick amp board removal and upgrades.
I need to add a quick-disconnect of some sort when I upgrade.

Yeah I'll be darned. I guess they went through a wacko phase 🤣

"Its 3.25-inch woofer has a real aluminum phase plug affixed to its center pole piece. (Speakers at this price often have a dust cap misleadingly shaped and plated to look like a phase plug.) The plug smoothes the high-frequency response of the driver and also helps cool its motor structure."

Yeah. Nice speakers too when used with a sub.

I used mine on my desktop computer setup for a while before upgrading. I imagine they would make good garage/work room speakers as well so I'm hanging onto them for the future.

Did they build them in Gallagher Mansion? That's all she wrote, folks.
