This is our 1 year anniversary for the sewer backup at the house. Cast iron sewer pipe broken at foundation wall. House was built in 1999. Based on condition of break and the fact tree roots from 15 foot away were growing into break, it could have happened when they were backfilling against foundation with a cat. Over time the pipe settled two - three inches and paper collected at break.

    An outside cleanout was added.

Unfortunately, I can almost smell that post. I hope you got that dirt up and away from the vinyl siding. You want at minimum a 4" clearance down. FWIW.

That was initial fill, mostly clay. I accelerated the settling by drilling a dozen or more 3" auger holes three feet down and saturating the area with water. That took over a week to dry out. It was like quicksand at first. Once it was solid to walk on, we leveled the fill and scraped the topsoil back then replaced the removed plants. Once we had the appropriate ground level, the guy returned to trim the pipe and glue the cleanout on.

Four years ago Eleven Madison Park, a three-Michelin-starred New York restaurant named best in the world in 2017, shocked the fine-dining sphere with an entirely plant-based menu. This week, its chef and owner, Daniel Humm, announced a U-turn: from mid-Oct, meat and seafood will return at the vaunted Manhattan establishment.

“Eating together is the essence of who we are, and I’ve learned that to truly champion plant-based cooking, I need to create an environment where everyone feels welcome around the table.”

Meat-eaters, it seems, were put off by the meatless approach. Humm told the New York Times he hadn’t realized he “would exclude people” by going vegan.

Undoubtably that 8 year run has a lot to do with it's NY location. They wouldn't have made it 8 weeks in Texas.
