From a business standpoint, that'd be counterproductive as I'd have to sub-out crossover fun to @VR3 or @westmassguyDon't take experimental gene therapies from known eugenicists.

What's DM? Da Money?I disabled signatures. -
ONE DOWN, ONE TO GO!
Had to get very creative here, I think I did alright for a first go. -
No need for staples when the crossover holds the polyfill in place.
Will do the other one tomorrow, this first one was an absolute project and a half. -
Both crossovers are done.
I decided to test them out with the SL2000 as I figured that the capacitor bump by 1.6uF wouldn't allow low enough frequencies to damage the tweeter through. I will say the polyswitch being gone definitely makes these brighter.
WOW! The midrange is still very good as it's only one inductor which I didn't change, the tweeter circuit is where the magic happened and boy it paid off!
Obviously tested out Money For Nothint and yeah, the snare drum and cymbals are immediately noticeably more detailed and have a much nicer sound to them than before.
As for my mods list, I'm not gonna change out the binding posts, I can't justify opening back up those crossovers for that.
Also, BH5 is out of the question, the crossover is behind the midwoofer, I completely forgot about that, so there just is no where for it to go. -
A bit early yet for impressions given that you don't have many hours on the crossover uogrades, but just curious as to whether you've noticed any changes in lower frequencies presence and character.
I like the 5JR+, but my stock ones are bass-anemic. Seems like they should have some low range.I disabled signatures. -

I don't think it's early, the difference was immediately noticeable compared to the old worn out components.
I am aware the burn in time is needed, will probably play some white noise on them for a week straight.
Zero difference in bass, the only component in the woofer circuit is an inductor and I didn't change it out at all, just the tweeter capacitor and resistor, oh and I jumped the poly switch.
My end game Monitor series speakers are the 7s, and I'm going to go the whole nine yards on them. I might not do every mod listed here as I realized I couldn't even resell them for much because of the cosmetic cabinet separation and I'm already $350 (Canadian) in... -
New tweets! -
Okay fellow Polkies,
I'm using the M5JR+ now in place of my RT3000p sattelites, and I have the RT3000p subs dialed in to fill in that low end the Monitors are missing...
All I can say is wow 😍 they sound absolutely phenomenal. I don't think, and I mean this honestly, I've owned a speaker with such articulate and detailed treble. It's super crisp and it makes Sting, Seal, Pearl Jam, Eagles, etc sound absolutely amazing. I'm happy I went with the RD-0198 instead of the 194.
Now, I'm considering fully breaking in the crossovers and tweeters with white noise played for a week straight, and giving them more listening, but after that... I may sell them. This isn't in vein though, my plan is that now I have good experience with these older Polks and I know how to do these upgrades, so that money I get from selling them (will probably net even) will go towards a next pair of vintage Polks.
Perhaps those RTA 11T listed locally... now THAT would be a fun project.
