    This isn’t a “personal system”.

    It’s technically a dealer’s system

    For full disclosure

In that case and purely out of curiosity, is there a price tag that can be shared?

I wasn’t familiar with Pilium so I had to ask when I was there

    M9 is 750,000
    Zeus stereo is 100,000, x2
    Ares pre is 130,000
    Phono I don’t know
    Vyger Atlantis is 60,000
Koetsu onix platinum is probably 15,000
    Pilium Dac is 60,000
Taiko extreme streamer is 35,000 I believe

And that’s without the room and 2 eames chairs and wires and treatment

The Taiko Extreme Server, depending on what you want with it can range from that to a reported $120K. Then there are the options and current technology that are upstream from it that are being developed and distributed as we speak. Supposedly unreal listening. TOTL stuff.

Thanks for the breakdown, it's very interesting. I have less than the cheapest component in my entire system, including wires and treatment. Lol But, even if that was an individual's rig, more power to 'em. Gotta love the thought that went into that entire setup and obviously from @Joey_V 's reaction, it delivers.

I was at Mecum Indy last month and sitting a few seats down from a guy who bid to $2 million on a car before he was outbid by someone on the phone. I'd honestly rather have this room and system than the car he was bidding on, but everyone has their favorite hobbies and limits. And with the speakers weighing 1,000 lbs each, the cost per lb of the car and the system would probably be similar. 😁

Tom, I didn’t even know it would scale up that high in price. Truly bleeding edge stuff.

    Interesting thoughts

I would say that a more meager system and using the money for other things yields more. Or maybe I just didn’t hear it in a system I’m more familiar with.

@Joey_V where in the room did he have the dual gold bowls set up?

@Joey_V where in the room did he have the dual gold bowls set up?

His other room was just as unobtanium

Kondo set amps, 200,000$ for the pair. $130,000 preamp.

I don’t even know how to process those numbers.

    The gold bowls are there.

    Looking back.

Maybe it’s just me, but I’m not chasing that final dragon. Just too much. It was cool, but too over the top for me.

I’m gonna say it again … this forum is great! I’d never even heard of those gold bowls until Tom’s post the other day. Now there’s a room that apparently has two of them!

Very few will ever get to that level in this hobby, but it is awesome that you had the experience of listening to someone else’s good fortune. From what I’ve seen, you have an enviable rig, as well.

Joey, where in relation to the speakers were the gold bowls (as everyone calls them)? I am guessing around or just above tweeter height, about a foot or two inside of each speaker?

I am curious because when Ron comes to my place or I go over to his, I'd kinda like to know where they might sound their best.

Listening height it seems is most favorable
