Apple Music, Beer and Focal Speakers.

So I want to start out by saying Apple Music just keep impressing me.
Allow me to explain. So they have this feature I just discovered. It's call REPLAY. It puts together a list of songs you listed to in a year. So for example 2015 , They put together basically a 2015 playlist of the most played songs I listened to that year. I was Demoing or better put enjoying my Focal Chorus 826v's I picked up recently and was messing around with Apple TV Apple Music and came across it.

Never in a millions years would I use Apple Music as demoing or chilling and listening to music. I usually put a Disc in or play some of my High Rez files I have but honeslty, Apple Music has really stepped up it's quality.

Another thing that is really badass is Spatial Music, if you haven't messed around with it, you owe it to yourself to check it out. If you old like me just think about SACD and DVD AUDIO from way back in the day when 5.1 music became a thing. With Spatial music, they take advantage of your Atmos setup, which by the way I'm gonna improve mine from 5.2.2 to 5.2.4.

I have building my iTunes Lossless library for many many years and have most of my favorite music there. Apple Music takes all your library from Burning CD's in and puts them available on Apple Music across all your devices. Very cool. Sure there is a lot to be said about physical media and I still enjoy going through the steps, but this is a excellent Friday night sit down with the wife, go down memory lane with some tunes from out past.

So the Focal's are doing great. The Def Tech's have been in the basement for awhile now and I'm really enjoying, living and experiencing everything they offer. I recently grabbed an Integra AVR and they have never been one of my favorites for different reasons over my 20 plus years dealing with them. But one thing I can say is I'm not exactly sure why but when I'm using my Integra AVR and the Focal's for 2 channel music, it emits this very large wide and tall sound stage. I'm using Pure Direct so no DSP is added but maybe there is some kind of processing going on as they sound gigantic. I have a Musical Fidelity M6i and as damn awesome it sounds , the Integra AVR just has this width and height that all my other amps pre's and AVR's have not put this forth. Impressive to say the least. It also does extremely well with Movies and Video Games. I'm starting to think I should rethink my idea of getting the new Integra DRX 5.4 , I'm currently Rocking the Integra DRX4 which is still 4k Atmos etc but I grabbed it used just to experience Integra in my own own with a modest Mid level AVR experience. I'm Impressed, I really enjoy it.

Anyway Last on my tonights list is Beer. We where in Hershey PA recently and Troegs has a special beer they released that you can ONLY get at the brewery. It's a Mad Elf but it's a special release. Man let me tell you it's crazy tasty. I like regular Mad Elf when it comes out and this is some next level stuff.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I love it when the audio gets right and you have a new awesome night of enjoyment.
I have the same color and model Salamander as you. Did you put the casters on it or did it come with them? Also do you have tinted glass on your doors or is it the standard metal mesh? Thanks. D

The Troegs brewery is a must stop when we are visiting our daughter in Enola. Been enjoying Troegenator lately. What's the ABV on that beer?

The Focal's are really good speakers. I'm so very happy with them. I also enjoy keep changing the AVR's in drive them with and hearing the small differences that makes.
The beer is awesome but you have to be careful as they go down super easy and yield a high alcohol content.
Apple Music is awesome, you can actually use it to demo stuff which again never in a million years would I believe I would be using a Apple TV 4K streaming box as a source for music playback. That thing is an impressive source for under $200.

I have a few options with the Salamander Triple 20. I have the Black metal mesh for the sides as well as the doors, you can change that all you want. I have Maple Wood side panels as well but I like the Black Metal mesh as I like the look and the ability to allow air in and out. I don't run back panels on it as I had the fans as well as the standard black plastic screw on covers.
I ordered the casters as I change my gear around so much, I needed an easier way to move the cabinet. I also have the standard feet for it which just screw into the poles like the casters do.
Salamander Synergy line is great, you can add , take away and change it at will. I have owned this cabinet for over 20 years and it's still in near perfect condition.

9.5%. Troegenator is one of my all time very favorite beers. When I'm drinking it, it is my favorite. You also have to be careful of those as they also go down super easy and smooth and you can drink way more than you might want to . I drank 5 of them one time and I could barely walk LOL.

Tidal has a similar function as Apple Replay....which bunches together your most played songs for each month. You can go back, hit a button, and you have a customized playlist for each month. Very cool feature indeed!

I don't think I will ever run out of music to listen to. Also Tidal will give you suggested tracks and albums to listen to based on your listening habits.
