Are Polk Monitor 45B good speakers?
Or are they just decent/average?

    Looks like TSi style Polks. You'll have to do a foam-frame mod to those drivers and add sound absorption foam on the rear walls behind drivers to get them from sounding "hollow". That and a subwoofer, then they would be decent.
    Don't take experimental gene therapies from known eugenicists.

    Definitely just decent/average. I owned the old monitor 40s and it looks like those are just an update. I would go for many used speakers over those, especially rt55is or even 25is. Of course if you’re getting them for super cheap they would be perfectly fine for a patio or garage type setup…
