Why does sound intermittently drop on my Signa S4 soundbar?

Hi,
A few months ago I bought a Philips PUS8536 TV and a Polk Signa S4 soundbar.
They are connected via eARC and I have noticed that occasionally the sound will drop out totally for about 10 seconds before returning with no intervention from me.
Sometimes this can happen 2 or 3 times in an hour, other times it may happen once in a couple of hours.
It seems the issue only occurs when I am watching content that does not use Dolby audio (so no problems when soundbar is showing green (Dolby) or blue (Atmos) light) - it doesn't makae a difference whether the content is live broadcast through the aerial or streamed on Netflix, Prime or Disney+.
I have factory reset both the tv and the soundbar and tried several different cables but the problem persists.
If I use the internal tv speakers then I don't have problem - it is only when I use the soundbar that the sound drop problem occurs.
I have tv Digital Audio output set to Multichannel (bypass).
Anyone have any ideas that may help?

I'm having this same problem with a Sanyo TV - glitches (or dropouts of picture and sound) last a second or so and then the sound and picture returns but we've missed part of the program. Very irritating.

Hello,
That really sounds like a problem with your source device; the signal coming into the TV. Do you happen to have a DVD player that you could connect to the Sanyo?
