Speaker Cable/Wire

Ok guys, I know that given the amount of time I've been participating in the forum, this seems like a stupd question. It's just kind of like when you've been talking to someone for a long while, but you don't know their name, and you're just too embarrassed to ask. It all comes down to the fact that you just flat never learned it.
So, my question. What is the difference between AWG and Guage in speaker cable terms. Is it the same thing? Is 14 AWG the same thing as 14 guage or am I missing something? Thanks.

My personal quest is to save to world of bad audio, one thread at a time. -
Yes Greg, it's the same. AWG(American Wire Gauge)is the official designation, and as Dan said, is usually shortened to simply gauge.
