Magnifi Max earc sount quit with Vizio

suddenly today the Magnifi Max sound quit while using an earc cable with vizio. It shows the volume going up and down on both TV and soundbar, but no actual sound.

Sound works with an optical.

Any tips to figure out how to get the earc sound working?

Yes. CS is slow, very slow. not called back yet. I contacted them more than once. That is why am asking here.

I would suggest trying (if possible) another HDMI cable. Since the soundbar works with the digital optical connection the suspicion is with either the receiver's circuitry or the HDMI cable. The only way to tell is to substitute another cable or receiver.
