LSIC (Center Channel) restricted/muffled sound?

Hello all!
I set up a LSI series in 5.1, (just acquired) and for some reason the Center Channel hardly puts out sound. I thought it might be my Denon amp, (just got back from service) so I tried it on a 2 channel I am using in my garage. I used the "B" speaker output for the Polk, the "A" to my regular Garage speakers. All three speakers in the Center are producing sound, but it is muffled, not near the sound as the "A" speakers. I took the crossover out of the back, but do not see any burn spots. Has anyone ran into this before? Thanks!

Tweeter working?

yes, tweeter is playing but I cannot tell if it is muffled as well

I'd stick it back in the 5.1 configuration and run auto-calibration from the receiver or use an SPL meter to check relative levels.
The LSiC doesn't sound like a bookshelf speaker when being run by itself because the drivers are configured differently. If it doesn't approach a normal SPL compared to the other speakers in a 5.1 configuration when it's calibrated it's defective. -

I would take out the crossover and check everything with a multimeter. I had a similar issue with my LSI15 & LSIc just cuz it looks ok... doesn't mean its ok. Pictures for reference.

And while at it, make sure no strands of wire touching both terminals.
