There is about a 5% genetic difference between apes and men …but that difference is the difference between throwing your own poo when you are annoyed …and Einstein, Shakespeare and Miss January. by Dr. Sardonicus -
The more Ridiculous/WOW factor is I’m sure they sold some..

I'm guessing that Mac's new ownership may have these on closeout real quick-like.
On the other hand -- I am picturing the tour when the new owners came through. Take 'em down to the R&D labs and show 'em what the boys people beings in the lab have been workin' on. A box. With green lights on the front. Ka-ching! SOLD!
Now, lest we be accused of tunnel vision, I feel obligated to point out another new, state of the art product from McIntosh. Yes, they've got a new... tuner. Costs the same as their previous model, but has slightly worse specifications. And it's got big blue meters! For what? I hear you ask.... they're level meters. Just what every tuner needs.

In seriousness, it will be interesting to see the innards of this one. Speculation elsewhere on teh webz is... well... speculating that the FM specs suggest that it uses a ubiquitous "FM radio on a chip". Wonder if that is indeed the case.
The McIntosh SJ-100 (shark jump) is coming this fall, I'm sure. -
Yet, it's sort of refreshing in a weird way to read a review that doesn't kiss the a** of the manufacturer.Yep, my name really is Bob.
Parasound HCA1500A(indoor sound) and HCA1000(outdoor sound), Dynaco PAS4, Denon DP1200 w/Shure V15 Type V and Jico SAS stylus, Marantz UD7007, Polk L600, Rythmik L12 sub. -
I've seen a few guys on some Facebook groups I am Subscribed to have these- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit.

It kills me that the LB200 Light Box doesn't even have meters for that price.Stan

It really is too bad that McIntosh doesn't still have their Amplifier Clinics -- 'cause if I had one of these LB-200s, I'd sure want to have it tested and make sure that it meets its specs!
-
THAT^^^is perfect!

It would be best if it had meters that danced with the music
Realistically I could see something like that running 500 bucks tops- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -

I just had a brainstorm!
Imagine the same product, as you describe it, with a removable logo that could be replaced with the logo of your choice. With big blue meters?!
Heck, Mac could partner with someone to make the third-party logos and sell 'em for $150 a pop to get back some of their profit margin if they sold the base model for $500.
I'd buy one!
edit: I guess I'd be tempted to go with "Yamaha" for mine, but then the other line would have to be changed to the year 1887.
-
Is there an ASR review of this thing? Measurements?- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit.

I think it's a little too expensive unless someone wants to buy one and have it drop-shipped to Amir M.
I'm gonna pass on that.
It probably emits all kinds of RFI, though, with the odd bits of hardware that it does have aboard from the factory.
-
Lol, no doubt. I'm sure they used premium switching wall warts and the most expensive blue Leds possible- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit.

Or YORX?!
Speaking of which, this YORX was decades ahead of Mac, with a built-in, dedicated drawer for stuff right in the bottom of the pseudo-stack! From Sharp YORX minds come Sharp YORX products.
See it down at the bottom? Clearly and thoughtfully labeled Compartment. -

Oh.
On topic.
Does McIntosh sell an accessory MacDriver to remove the back panel screws?
If so -- does it have a meter?
