I have a pair of monitor 60 towers. Lately the one is not putting out as much volume as the other. No its not the receiver settings. Now it has started tripping(shutting off) my receiver. I know it's the speaker because I disconnected it from the receiver and everything was fine. Any suggestions on how to diagnose and or fix?
Thank you so much!!

Do you have another pair of known good speakers to test the receiver with? That'd be my first step.
If not, I would reverse the speaker wires at the speakers and see if the problem stays with the channel or stays with the particular speaker.George / NJ

Thanks, yeah I've tried all that. I'm 100% sure it's the speaker. I'll probably rip it apart and see if I can find a short somewhere.

Have you checked both speakers with an ohmmeter across the + and - binding post terminals?George / NJ
