NEW PRICE FOR POLKSTER'S ONLY! $525/pr!!!
I thought I'd let you guys know that I have some Polk RTi100's for sale. I have one pair now but have access to many more if you guys are interested. I'm sure I don't need to ramble on about the speaker other than a few key points. Powered internal (bandpass enclosure) 6.5" sub with a 35w rms, 80w peak amp built in to each speaker. More details below...
http://www.polkaudio.com/home/products.php?category=4&speaker=175
They were listed at $499.99 each at a local retailer right before the RTi10's came out. Again, I have access to a lot of them so email me if you're interested. I accept PayPal and can even do a day or 3 day listing on eBay to make it ligit if it'd make you feel more comfortable. I ship UPS Ground and you pay actual shipping (insurance extra). Email me if you're interested! tsisco@kc.rr.com

This is a flea market, dude, not an Ebay advertising space. We are not going to compete for your speakers.
If you want sell your stuff here, post it with a price and pictures.
Maybe you ought to read this:
Ebay poll
As you can tell by the results, the majority do not approve.
I'm being nice about this, some others probably won't be... -
he's knew, the mistake is understandable
-
Look guys this is how I feel,
Sell wherever you want.He there on the lawn it doesn't even matter. If the deal isn't for you, then don't go for it.When did it become our responsabilty to tell people how and where to sell THERE STUFF???Did you go work for polk and become a forum moderator????I think not.
You know he's new so he doesn't know YOUR rules.I don't remember reading a memo from polk stating the rules about selling your gear elsewhere and I'm one of the older members in here.
I feel alot of this crap is petty.Yes I said it petty.Find something better to talk about like Audio and video. This kinda stuff is real old.The dude after a response like that one will most likely not post in here.Sorry 2 as he could have had some good experiences to share. Our loss.

I'm not done,
I sell my stuff in here first due to the fact I like to give back to the forum.Alot of very cool dudes in here.I'd rather see them get some good used stuff over a stranger.
If it doesn't sell in here then I move to Audiogon or ebay,my choice not YOURS.

If we don't address this type of stuff...then this place will just become a hodge podge of Ebay ads and will loose the feel it has now. I don't know if you want that...but the voting shows that the rest of the group doesn't.
Polk has done a good job of letting us pretty much run things on out own...so I think it's cool for people to address this stuff.
You may see it as petty, but the majority here does not... -
So where did THE BOARD find it nessary to moderate the flea market?I thought it was for sellng your stuff. If it's already on ebay and no takers, whats wrong with posting it in here?
I don't do it but I find no wrong in it.People might actually need money for whatever there reasons are.Times are tuff man,

Another thing,
alot of people ON THE BOARD I will call it post links to ebay Items, are they wrong 2?Whats the difference who is selling it?
If you want it,buy it.if not move along, whats so hard about that.
There...theres my rule

Brett started that Poll a while back, a good idea I might add, and the majority of the people felt that those ads didn't belong here. In fact, almost all of us regulars, save a couple, agreed on it. It just doesn't jive with how the FM works, and over time may deteriorate the environment completely...
I like the frog analogy. Take a frog and drop him in to a glass of boiling water and he'll jump right out...take that same frog and drop him into a glass of tap water and gradually increase the temperature to boiling and he'll sit there and boil to death...
Nobody is telling him he absolutely can't post that...you're right none of us has the authority to do that...but we can school him on how the forum works... -

Bottom line, you have your opinion, I have mine...it just so happens that mine falls within the majority... -
There is nothing petty about what I told him, Dan. IMHO, I don't think it was that harsh, either.
A poll was posted, and by a popular vote it was agreed that this was not the preferred behavior.
As far as being a monitor of the forum, not hardly.
It's my intention to enlighten him as to what most of us agree to. This would save him some aggravation in the future.
Maybe you don't agree to that; but hey, that's your opinion too.
P.S. - Sorry to side track the thread. Good luck on selling your speakers. -
Dan, I see your point. Let me try to explain mine (and others).
Posting a link to an ebay item, that you are not affiliated with, because you feel other members may be interested due to:
1. The item is rare
2. The item is in great condition
3. The item is priced lower than usual.
4. You just want them to be 'aware' of it, for the guys that don't search ebay as often.
Any or all of those reasons, even a myriad of other reasons is O-K. That's giving people heads up on a possible good deal.
Posting a link to your OWN ebay auction, isn't doing anyone here any favors. Now if someone said 'Hey, I listed my speakers on ebay -> here's the link for pics etc. I've got a reserve of $300, but if someone on the forum wants to make a deal, I'll do $250'
That would be ok in my book. Ebay collects fees for listing items, Club Polk doesn't. How would the flea market look if say I posted a link EVERY time I put something up for sale. You'd never find ANYTHING in here, I'd rule the board.
Cheers,

i agree with mantis but i refuse to argue, its not important enough for me

It's cool I for some reason or another felt the need to vent.
Opnions are always welcome,

I appologize about posting it like I did. I'm very familiar with how people usually run forums and seeing this is a Polk website, I figured it'd be ok. Plus, before I posted this, I looked around for about 10 minutes looking for rules on selling/posting sales here. Nothing came up so I posted. My appologies! The reason I posted it in here is because I have access to quite a few more of these so if anyone is interested, by all means email me and we'll work something out. I will possibly do a little better for the forum as it seems most of the people are very cool. I'm impressed I didn't get flamed on this, but I noticed that flaming is against the rules. Thanks for being polite and email me if anyone is interested in a rare set of speakers for a damn good price.Never kick a fresh **** on a hot day.

Russ is dead on, in my opinion, but it's just that . . . my opinion. I have sold a lot of things on Ebay, but I think posting links to that stuff here would have amounted to nothing more than gratuitous self-promotion. In my view, that is not what this forum is about.
I believe the majority of us are here to help each other, ask and answer a few questions, give Sid a helluva hard time, learn a little more about this God-awful expensive hobby, give Sid a helluva hard time, share stuff that we have outgrown or no longer use, and give Sid a helluva hard time. Club Polk is a forum for hobbyists, enthusiasts, and wannabe Polk Heads. It is not, from my perspective, a cost-free forum to advertise for the benefit of a commercial enterprise.Yamaha HTR-5640Polk RTi70 Mains Polk CSi30 CenterDayton Titanic MKIII Sub -
