Title says it all, are there any on wall speakers that sound great? I don’t mean good enough to be passable for home theater, I mean truly great sounding speakers even for music.

I recall Usher having a pair that was pretty good. Probably not as good as what you’re looking for though, as I wouldn’t say they were fantastic.

I think they are out of production, but totem had some on wall called the Tribe - there is a pair on eBay now. I’ve never heard them but they look VERY intriguing.

I feel like the best research goes into in-wall speakers - there are lots of high end options available…

The Polk Reserve R350 is intended to fill that niche as a wall mounted speaker than can be used for left, center, right. Mcintosh also has an LCR model for much more money. Others likely do as well, but I haven't bothered to look.

The problem I see is the form dictates the performance. People who buy LCR speakers usually want them with cabinets that aren't deep so they don't stick out away from the wall much. This is why a model won't sound truly great but merely good enough for the purpose.

That’s also why I think there are more high performance in walls, because the infinite baffle configuration makes better sound possible…
