“A single, double-wound transformer is essentially the same as two separate transformers on a single iron core.”

So you claim the Belles 350 transformer shares only a single core and a power cord. Each channel’s “power supply” has its own set of primary windings in addition to each having secondary windings.
I don't claim anything in regard to the Belles 350. Never heard one...never seen one.

All I know is that the 100 watt version from my favorite amplifier manufacturer uses a double-wound transformer, while the 200 watt version uses double transformers, and each with separate power-supply capacitors, rectifiers, etc. Both of 'em claim "Dual Mono" status.

I believe there comes a point with to much power sparks and flames shoot out, atleast that is what I have heard.

Although a well designed crossover should fall on its sword and immolate first, to protect, say, an expensive beryllium dome tweeter.

    ;)

It is well established that a $500 power transformer will usually fail to protect a 20-cent fuse. This is called engineering. ;)B)

(EDIT: Note that I am being facetious. Mostly. :#)

Psshhh, flames out of the tweeter are 2ay cooler than burnt resistors

    This raises an important question.
Does a waveguide* tend to focus or to disperse the flames?
    Discuss.

    :D
