LSI W -- anybody seen/heard it yet?

To me it looks an aweful lot like the PSW650, but with a stonger amp. I own the 650 and love it, but does increasing the amp power justify tripling the price?

    The woofers are alot different, the woofers use 2 inch surrounds.

    The 2 inch surrounds will allow for more extention -- and I am sure the LSiW uses a bigger VC as well.

    THe PSW650 was geared more torwards HT for what I can see. The LSiW looks more geared toward Music, as it is for the LSi line.

    I am just a simple caveman and your strange mathematics confuse me. PSW650's SRP is $769 and the LSiW's is $1199.

    I've seen the PSW 650 going for $400 and change. I personally paid more than that, but it's still a long way from what their asking for the LSi W.

    Trust me dude...

    The LSiW SHOULD** walks circles around the 650 in output, extention, and accuracy.

    Heck, the 505 out-performs the 650 in all those areas.

    I was in Tweeter today (Fairfax, VA, store). A cherry sided LSiW was set up and ready to play. I have a SVS PB2-ISD myself, so I'm not really interested in a smaller subwoofer now, but the new Polk subwoofer looks absolutely beautiful. Makes the standard "roof shingle black" SVS finish look pitiful. The output is very impressive for a smallish box too and blended very nicely with a pair of LSi15s that were playing. The added subwoofer made the LSi15s sound even better than usual even though they were being run from a Denon 3805 receiver. Not too long ago the LSiW would have looked quite large to me, but now it looks small. SVS has ruined my perspective; everything else looks small now.

    The price at Tweeter is $999. They are available in cherry or ebony.

    I'm not ready to post a full review of the sub yeat,but from what I have heard of it so far......sweet.Clean and clear.It seems to play lower then it's rated specs.I will have a full detailed review when I get more time to listen and put things into perspective.

    It's a beautiful looking sub.It's so LSI looking.It's pretty heavy as I carried it from the front of one of our stores to the back sound room.

    I looked on the spec sheet for the subwoofer--81 lbs shipping weight. That is one very solid subwoofer. Looking forward to your review as I didn't have much time to spend with it myself.

    i saw the lsiw... but it wasnt working - the tweeter manager said that it might have blown a fuse or something considering the past day the same tweeter store saw many power shortages and fluxes...

    too bad though - looked real beautiful... nice case and decent price. i have the svs pc+ so i wasnt really interested in a new sub, but if this thing outdid the musicality of the svs - i wouldve pounced on this beauty!!

    well... i didnt hear it, but boy - it is beautiful! :cool:

    just moved my psw650 out of the way for the LSiW.
    I't like a wild horse, I need to get a handle on it. Dont get me wrong I love the STRONG SHARP BASSSSSSSSS.

    Only played one part of one movie so far Underworld. I think that you could keep someones heart going with this thing if they sat on this thing, not that I'll let anyone that close to it.

    Awesome! I can't wait to get it in at my shop. I can't believe it's been in Tweeter for 2 months now and I have yet to see one. It looks awesome and I love the new PSW line of drivers. A lot better than they've ever created. I had an old roommate who had the 650 and I have to say I hated that thing with a passion. It was obnoxiously loud and sounded horrible. Muddy and overbearing. I am very interested in hearing the LSiW real soon...
