Will I notice the difference If I add a 2nd Sub?

I have Polk Signiture series 5.1 system. Will I notice a difference if I add a 2nd Subwoofer?

Yes! I didn’t think it would but I got a good price on a used sub and figured why not try it as a second. Really rounded out the bass.

Yes I personally feel two should be the minimum in a room. Ymmv but I have found if you can get them in opposite corners they really compliment each other.

While I mostly agree with you Ivan it depends on the sub IMO. One quality sub will easily outperform 2 mediocre ones. The OP did not mention what his current sub was...

    Ken,
Even with quality subs I feel two smoothes (evens) out the room response so not to overwhelm an area.
That has been my experience, and why I said ymmv. I've not been in every room lol.
I've been in some rooms with one great sub and different seats can have vastly different responses from the sub.

In total agreement Ivan. All I was saying without knowing what sub the OP is currently running it's hard to say. Adding another PSW10 (for example) to have duals vs a capable SVS, HSU, REL, Velo....

Get a Umik-1 and REW it will help with placement on your 2nd subwoofer which will help reduce nulls.

I was always a big believer in the 2 sub scenerio. However now that I've had my KEF KC62 for a few months now my thought process has done a complete 180 reverse.

Due to it's size (or lack there of) & being able to move it around to endless room placements has really given me pause about another. My room is 3k cubic feet & the single KC62 has done wonders.

I am still waiting for your Minimus 7 crossover mod, you know the one that is 3 times bigger than the speaker itself... ;)

    The more the merrier.

Seriously yes but… more “fair” subs will do little to smooth and improve your bass QUALITY
