How long before updates?

I bought a pair of Aerial Acoustics 7T speakers at least 10 years ago, and while they are now in my HT/spare stereo system, they still sound good. However, I would think technology marches on and they are ready for an upgrade. Not that I would buy an upgrade, but as a new customer I would be curious if my purchase will soon be past tense.

There are some companies that update products constantly without changing model numbers or letting people know. Don't know if Aerial is one. Unison Research is that way, one year an integrated will be 80 watts and two years later the same model will be 120 watts.

My mains are like 25 years old powered by an amplifier that is 18 years old... Don't feel like I'm missing much of anything personally.

I would hold on to them, those are nice speakers.

One can always do better in this hobby of ours, but it always comes with a cost, and it can be shocking what small increases of sound quality can do to your wallet.
