Signa 2 Soundbar audio bouncing between TV and soundbar

I just bought the Signa 2 Soundbar, connected to my Hisense Smart tv via the ARC HDMI port.
When powering on the TV, and when changing sources to other devices connected on HDMI, the audio "bounces" between coming out of the soundbar and the TV speakers. This usually happens for a minute or so before the sound starts coming out of the sound bar.
This is very annoying, is there anything I can do to fix this and make it come out of the sound bar straight away?
Thanks

I believe it's recommended to turn off the TV's speakers via the TV's audio setup menu.

You've turned off the TV's speakers but you still hear them sometimes? What might be happening is that on some programs you are hearing a stereo presentation giving the soundbar a wide sound stage. Then at other times with a different program or channel playing you may be hearing a monophonic presentation and the sound seems to be coming from the center of the TV. But in both cases the soundbar is doing its job the way it should.
