How to resolve PSW 505 fails to power on?

I purchased my PSW 505 6 years ago. Today the sub will not power on. I checked the fuse and it was fine. I checked the power cable and it is plugged into the wall outlet. I checked my Yamaha receiver settings and nothing was changed. The sub feature is set correctly. I checked the LFE Audio cable and it is fully seated on the receiver and the sub. There is no light on. When I flip the power switch on/off/on still no light turns on. No sound is present. No smell is present. I unplugged all the cables and the power and waited an hour. I plugged everything back in and still no light is on. Is there something else to check? Is there an opportunity to have it repaired in my hometown, Phoenix, AZ? Thank you for your time and efforts.

    Hello,
Welcome to the forum. I'm afraid the bass amplifier has become defective and would either need to be repaired or replaced. Usually a general repair shop can repair the amplifier and while Polk doesn't supply repair parts they will provide a schematic drawing. If you do a search on the web there is information on repairing it yourself if you are experienced.

  • Thank you for the quick reply and insightful answer. I have not opened up the back panel. I was hopeful this effort was not needed. I was being optimistic and wanted it to be some setting I was overlooking. I will look for a schematic and attempt to repair.
