I was perusing discogs and what certain LP's are going for as I'm looking for the MFSL Aimee Mann Lost in Space LP

Holy SCHITBALLS!

And I'm not talking UHQR releases.....just run of the mill releases are going for stupid amounts of money.

I plan for the future. - F1Nut

I paid dearly for a sealed copy of that one and of course it's got a click here or there. The SACD is so good I shouldn't have bothered.

The price of vinyl is what prompted me to up my Digital game a little. Streaming Qobuz has been a good alternative to the crazy prices of LP's these days, plus it's as enjoyable as vinyl for me...lol

I'm listening to Lost in Space and it is outstanding :)

    SHUT YOUR W-**** MOUTH!

The MFSL SACD is, indeed, fantastic....

I am contemplating unloading a few LP’s at these prices though.

Vinyl is dead, and has been for years. It’s current ‘popularity’ is just a dead cat bounce. Buy hi-res albums from HD Tracks, or other sites.

50 bucks for the MFSL sacd or LP?

Vinyl isn’t dead. It’s growing, steadily, and has been for a decade with no signs of losing steam.

    That’s one helluva dead cat.

And it’s not just old geezers like me.....it’s kids and for a lot of them it’s not just a passing fad. Sure, the start with the cheapie Crosley......but they are buying real turntables. Cleaning kits. Records. They are enjoying not just the sound but the whole experience of it.....the tactile connection to the music and the media as opposed to just point and click.

    HA NO !
These cassettes have been in my work drawer for 20ys. That was the day my Yamaha KX??? (950-900) cassette player took a dump. I only recorded cassettes so I had tunes in my vehicle that had a cassette player.
I'm sorry Jody you're on your own with the cassette containers ;)

I've actually whittled the stack down quite a bit, but still have about 18 left.

I jumped on the train several years ago, and this was the discussion back then. People saying it's dead, with more and more record shops opening in cities across the country, and more and more people (particularly younger people) getting into it.

I'm even at the point now where I have massively slowed down record purchases because the prices have continued to creep up. I'm also really getting tempted to start selling off some records for more gear. The issue is the ones that are worth decent money are the ones I actually want to listen to. Such is life.

So I have to show my ignorance, I knew nothing about Aimee Mann, I had no idea what I was getting, LOL!! I literally picked up this SACD because of this thread, I like it, a lot of it reminds me of Sheryl Crow..

Aimee Mann is great -- she cut her teeth as the lead singer in Til Tuesday way back when...
