SDA II price in line?

Where are you located? I am in Maryland and have a decent pair of 2B studios that I'd like to sell. They look similar to what you posted above and they are pin/blade.
-
Pull the drivers would be the true way to tell. SDA2a had 2 x MW6510 and 2 XO boards. SDA2b had the drivers listed above on only 1 XO board.
-
Kinda far Mesa, AZ….The seller keeps telling me they are SDA 2 because thats whats printed on the back. SDA 2 had 3 drivers I believe. I’ll ask if he would be willing for us to pull the two drivers and identify them. There really is no other way correct?
-
Anybody give me an idea of a price to offer depending if they are sda 2a vs sda 2b. They are stock and local for me.
Thanks -
Click on sold or expired. Their truth worth is what you are willing to pay plus upgrading cost an additional $400 which you will never recover. The lows are around $250, high side $400. So you can start without insult $275.00

Hard to say availability is key to price. If upgrading caps is on the agenda then the 2a will be pricey. I personally didn't care for the 2a, the 2b wasn't as bright to my ears, even after I did all new caps, resistors and wire to my 2a's. The stock 2b was better sounding stock.

Bought the dark stained 2bs. What recommendations would you guys give for the interconnect cable since one is not included. I read somewhere to stay away from the nickel plated connector. They are a pin blade.
Is this a good cable?

Well seller has his facts a little backwards but that will work. Many of us have went the Neutrik speakon connection. That requires more work from you and changing the connection on the speaker itself. That plug you linked is plug and play.

This will also work as only the pin carries the SDA signal.

Thanks on the interconnect cable question!
F1nut, Is MC paint stripper Methylene Chloride? I just want to be careful not to damage the caps? -
Is MC paint stripper Methylene Chloride?
Yes, but you can't buy it any longer because the gov't thinks they know what's best, which of course they don't. The new "green" strippers are worthless.I just want to be careful not to damage the caps?
Huh?

F1nut, all do respect Im trying to learn from others mistakes here. If they were solid oak I would have no worries but since they appear to be a laminate that some chemicals might cause the laminate skin delaminate. I agree with you about gov knows best and new green crap deal. Hell I have chlordane which was very effective on eliminating termites without drilling digging etc.
-
Since the prior owner put a stain of some sort over the oak veneer. I might start with a citrus orange type of gunk that removes decals on automotive painted surfaces very effectively called Big Orange in a small test area.

My profession revolves around wood and finishing. The veneer on vintage Polk speakers is pretty thick compared to today's offerings. Regardless, hand stripping with an MC based stripper will not lift veneer, old or new. Dip stripping is another story.
Do yourself a favor, go to the hardware store and buy one of the paint stripper products. Strypeeze is one of the better current offerings. Do not use the Big Orange.Political Correctness'.........defined

Ok so looking at the dark stained 2bs I bought some previous owner really went haywire with an orbital sander and left some swirls from not using a fine enough sand paper before staining. Not sure but may leave them alone. I was wondering since the fabric has some discolorations from whatever is there a way to rejuvenate the black fabric since there are no tears or will they will they need recovered if I can’t tolerate them?
Is the fabric a polyester of some sort? -
