The first speaker replacement has arrived

So, I cleared out 2 sets of speakers. Game room and main listening room. My plan was to bring in 2 new sets of speakers. The first one arrived and the second will likely be the new BW 802D4 which has been reserved with a deposit at my dealer.
The first has arrived... the dealer asked me to wait until he came to set it up, but I couldn’t wait so I employed my friend to assist.
Midway through the unpacking, I swore I should’ve waited.
These are bookshelves, btw. I’ll post some pics of the units once I get home. I have been listening for about a week, I am amazed.

Interesting. I guess it's an older one before they switched over to their all-aluminum enclosures.
Original MSRP $30k.

Yes, I am saving myself for the M6 maybe someday if I move and have a larger room. Haha... not sure if I can swing it but it’s a good goal to have.
I am not convinced the Mini II is outdated at all, I spoke to VP Magico Peter McKay and his assistance helped convince me that this was still a very state of the art bookshelf. I am not convinced there’s a Magico bookshelf out there that sounds as good as the Mini II.
Hearing it for myself, it is flat out spectacular.Magico, JL, Emm, ARC Ref 10 line, ARC Ref 10 phono, VPI, Lyra, Boulder, AQ Wel, SRA Scuttle Rack, Bluesound -

Those darn standing waves! If only they would take a seat.

Thanks for enlightening us. I was scratching my head.

Definitely a power hungry unit. Its low sensitivity of 87db draws a ton of power. I have hit volume of 50 on the audio research so I’m sure I’m drawing 300 watts at times.
Imaging aka center fill is spot on, very dense imaging. Densest vocals I’ve heard. Easy to position. Has a more believable phantom image than any unit I’ve had. I have found that I don’t have to close my eyes to “see”.Magico, JL, Emm, ARC Ref 10 line, ARC Ref 10 phono, VPI, Lyra, Boulder, AQ Wel, SRA Scuttle Rack, Bluesound -
It's got a Polk tweeter.Political Correctness'.........defined

160lbs? Is that including a stand,or speaker alone? Either way, that’s substantial.See my profile for list of gear.

So, if it was "very state of the art" -- why did they switch to an aluminum cabinet?
Or am I missing something (which is entirely possible)?

Who knows. Maybe aluminum is better but it ain’t as good as carbon fiber so if there was an all out assault, it would be cf.
