PSW505 12" Powered Subwoofer crackling Noise

I have a Polk Audio PSW505 12" Powered Subwoofer. Ive owned it for 4 years, but have used it probably 50 times. It’s making a crackling noise, doesn’t seem to be the speaker. Seems to be an internal issue. Anyone have the same issue? I paid good money for the product, and I am disappointed the product has failed already.

    Usually the cause of that kind of problem is related to the bass amplifier, it needs to be either repaired or replaced. It came with a three year warranty so yours is out of the coverage period. Polk offers a replacement amplifier which is easily replaced, it can be ordered at: 1-800-377-7655. You can also have a local service center repair your unit and Polk will supply the schematic drawing if the repair shop doesn't have it.
