My PSW505 12" Powered Subwoofer died after several years of light use. There is no power to the sub and the rid light does not come on. Hope to find someone on this forum who can help diagnose the problem. Thanks

Is there a fuse to check?
-
I pulled the fuse out and it appears to be fine

Have you checked the continuity of the fuse? Do you have a volt/ohm meter?
-
Yes. resistance is .062 ohms

In all likelihood your bass amplifier is defective and needs to be either replaced or repaired. If you're the original owner and have had it less than three years Polk should replace it under warranty. If not, then Polk can sell you a replacement via their parts department. There have also been owners who find local service facilities near where they live and get their amps repaired.Post edited by SeleniumFalcon on

Thanks @SeleniumFalcon. It’s over 4 years old. Would love to have it repaired, if I can find a reasonable shop in the Atlanta area. Any idea of the price point at which Polk would repair or replace?

I'm afraid Polk doesn't have the ability to repair it, from what I gather there is someone on eBay who offers repair capability.

This appears to be a frequent issue with Polk. Fortunately, i paid a small price. Never again will I buy a Polk or recommend. I’ve never had any of my audio equipment fail in such a short time….very poor quality and bad business strategy by Polk. Thanks anyway and good luck with your Polk!

I am guessing a repair shop will charge you around ~$100 to fix it. Around here the going rate ends up being around $85 for labor plus parts.Life is too short to be indirect.
