Crypto mining is actually pretty good at this point in time.

My Nvidia 3090 gets about $250/month.

I built a rig that can handle 3 of them.

If you think about it, cost wise, you actually have a very good ROI.

Cost of mining rig without cards: $600
Cards: $2,000 in grey market for a 3090.

6 cards split into 2 rigs.

    12,000$ + $600x2
    $12,000 + $1,200
    $13,200 all in.

    $1,500/month

    Can pay your mortgage.

Basically if you were bullish, you could technically run a rig and pay off your mortgage or rent... or lease an awesome car or two for the cost of $13,200.

Local. Use fb marketplace. Or connect with some people who have more money than time and they will sell it to you for near retail.

Ya know, I've been hearing about crypto for years, and still have no damn clue what it actually is. Coming from the software industry, sounds a lot like vaporware. Guess I should get my read on.

Find me a 3080 from one of these rich people you know at or near MSRP and I'll give you a 2060 for a scalp, I mean finders fee.

For those thinking crypto is a fad, Blockfi by Visa gives 1.5% back in BTC and El Salvador uses BTC as national currency alongside the USD.

Personally I think that pointing to a dictatorship/authoritarian country like El Salvador is not the way to entice folks. You just keep proving that form of payment is only used by drug dealers and officially corrupt countries.

poor choice of words on my part. Yes I do.

A vast majority of the folks in El Salvador are WAY below the poverty line and could never afford BTC.

Maybe I should have used the dark web instead of drug dealers.

Could be my mistake, the gov is giving anyone 30$ BTC if they open a digital wallet.

I’ve had a couple friends talking crypto for awhile. I find ETH more interesting than BTC. I haven’t really jumped in yet, but when I saw that some of our wedding vendors would accept BTC at a discount compared to cash, and they charged a fee to pay with card… we’ll that’s the first time I personally experienced real world adoption. That turned my head.

Had I just been familiar enough with crypto to convert the fee for the band from cash to BTC, that would have saved a few hundred bucks. Not to mention it’s a decent size payment for a legitimate business to accept in crypto. They may be ahead of the curve right now, but if more small businesses move that way it might really help to legitimize certain coins.

Loaded into solana and cardano. There goes my disposable savings for the month. No audio gear for this guy.

Missed mana. Went up too quick before I could get to it.

Funny how this all works out. Crypto.com has their own coin. It's up 60% this week, with a nice little jump in 24 hours. Nothing amazing in the crypto world and it may be short lived, but marketing seems to have a real impact on some of the values.
