Deep pockets or not, I would never spend that kind of money without hearing it in person first to see just why I would buying it. π³Alea jacta est!

Looks well constructed!- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit.

The last subwoofer Magico showed up with at the last Axpona was INTENSE!! It had to of had a 24" driver as it was FREAKING HUGE. I had taken a picture of the raw driver with a bottle of water for reference and the bottle of water looked very dinky next to it. I will state it filled the open auditorium area on the balcony where they had set up and the bass was INSANE!!! It practically knocked you out of your chair 35' away. I'm sure if it was in an average size house your windows would be in jeopardy.

Oh yeah! I'll get two to put in my aircraft hangar system next to my private jet (in my dreams).
-
@BlueFox your subwoofer has arrived.

Let's start out, I'm not a sub guy. Maybe I'm too old but subs started out as augmentation for bookies and small floor standers that didn't reach low enough. Now all speakers seem to require subs. If my speakers cost anywhere around the cost of this sub, they shouldn't need a sub.Amplifiers: Norma IPA 140, MasterSound Compact 845, Ayre v6xe, Consonance Cyber 800
Preamp: deHavilland Ultraverve 3
Dac: Sonnet Morpheus 2, Musical Paradise mp-d2 mkIII

What's a bass-hole?
-
Does it involve cardboard boxes and duct tape?- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit.

I'd crappp myself loading the thing in my truck. Would love to hear it tho..

What's a bass-hole?
A term I made up to describe bass lovers, although it was geared towards those who drive boom-boom cars with the volume at the max.

Do you think this magico would work well in a car audio situation- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit.
-
I understood @BlueFox the first time! π
For me, it would have nothing to do with HT. There are plenty of decent subs for HT for a fraction of the cost of the Magico. The only thing that would interest me in more expensive subwoofers would be the musical ability to reproduce something like organ music.Alea jacta est! -

Aside from expense, the biggest M9 issue is each speaker requires two amplifiers. That's the deal breaker for me.Lumin X1 file player, Westminster Labs interconnect cable

There you go! Plenty of amps.

@BlueFox the least you could do is drive the 30 min over to Magico and demo this bad boy!

I've been there a few times. If they release a S7 version 2 then I might go back for a demo, assuming they still do that for a 'low' price purchase. They are getting pretty big now. Maybe I will ask for a comparison between the S7 and the M6. Unfortunately, the M9 are too big for my house.

The Magico S5 speakers I heard at Axpona 2019 were stunning, with great quality bass. I could really get used to listening to those daily!
