Building custom component stands/platforms, need some assist with feet/cones

I had to look up this panzer material. It's full name is Panzerholz. A plywood material made under extreme pressure, which is so dense it sinks in water. It also happens to be bullet proof and was used by the Germans on tanks. Must weigh a ton!
Joey, you might find this interesting.

I should add that results are not surprising. Any wood or wood product will not resonate like metal will.
Clear audio makes it for their statement products... it’s very cool
My SRA rack uses birch but not panzer
The guy who builds the panzer will text me a mock up of a rack he designed, I’ll see how good he really is. Otherwise I’ll stick with the Baltic platforms that I designed.
A 4” stack should be enough to hold any product
A 4" stack! Are you looking at supporting a dump truck?Political Correctness'.........defined

If I go with panzer, he says he can’t do 4” without a special order from Germany... sounds cost prohibitive
Best he can do is 3” panzer for the price quoted
But if I do birch ply, I can push it to 4”
The picture below is a 3” prototype of Baltic ply

That is seriously Overkill... Both options lol
Love it- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -
I can see max needing 3" on base, and 2" on 2nd and 3rd levels
Also keep in mind spacing between legs to allow a pallet jack. When I ordered my rack shelves, I ordered 2 24" or so ...so I could split later if I didn't want a large component rack.
The spacing and of the legs height of the bottom shelf was to accommodate a pallet jack so I could raise and roll out especially using spikes. This also allow easy access to rear of components to switch out cables etc. Better than trying to slide components and scratch the wood.

Do it well. Or don’t do it all.txcoastal1 wrote: »I can see max needing 3" on base, and 2" on 2nd and 3rd levels

I am not sure if you’re serious about the pallet jack...Magico M2, JL113v2x2, EMM, ARC Ref 10 Line, ARC Ref 10 Phono, VPIx2, Lyra Etna, Airtight Opus1, Boulder, AQ Wel&Wild, SRA Scuttle Rack, BlueSound+LPS, Thorens 124DD+124SPU, Sennheiser, Metaxas R2R -
The idea is coming to fruition...
I am attracted to the panzer but I don’t know if I can build that many nor can I find a builder to drill through it and shape it and finish it.
1 for the Boulder
2 for the JL subs
1 for the jl crossover
1 for the degritter
2 for future amps (will be custom sized to fit either McIntosh 601/611 or Parasound JC1/1+
7 platforms to buffer the shelves on the SRA Scuttle, under all but the VPI table.

Very serious about the pallet jack...I wouldn't have wasted that many words explaining why I recommended it2-channel: Modwright KWI-200 Integrated, Dynaudio C1-II Signatures
