R200 Demo program??

So, I ended up with a pair of R200's from PolkFest......

And what I am considering, if there is interest, is possibly doing a demo program like has been done previously (most recently with the L200's).

So, basically, you get the speakers....demo them, legitimately, write a review and post it on the Polk website and then ship them to the next person.

Is there interest for such a thing??

Absolutely. I have L200’s, LSiM 703’s, LSi-9’s, and a slew of others to put them up against

    I think that's a wonderful idea!

FWIW, though: I really, truly do think I'm gonna just pull the trigger (so to speak) and invest in a pair. I have seen much good press and some pretty inspiring quantitative data on them... and the price seems quite right.

I will ask you, @TroyD (if you don't mind) - how is the fit 'n' finish on the R200? More to the point, how does it compare to the L200 (if you were party to one of the two L200 demo rounds)?

Doc, sent you a PM.......but, I didn't participate in the L200 demo program. However, the fit and finish of the R200's is good. The pair we opened up was black vinyl and it was fine. The L800's walnut was very nice and more luxurious than the R200's vinyl but I wouldn't be embarrassed by the R200's appearance...if that makes sense.

Yeah, I'd be curious to check out the R200 in comparison to the L200.

It would be a very interesting comparison, wouldn't it?

I like the size and price point of the R200 -- I even have a place to use a pair. They'd replace a pair of CSW Seventeens which are just right in terms of size but... how to put this delicately? They don't sound very good. :#

Send them here and we'll have a little GTG demo with 3, 4...maybe 5 local Polkies.

Perhaps a SMALL gathering, en famille, so to speak at the Mars Hotel?

    Room for 1 please?

Speaking of the Mars Hotel.....I heard this and, for no reason really, reminds me of the Mars Hotel

Ok kids....lemme think this one over......

So, basically, I got these from PolkFest and I don't want it to appear to anyone here or the folks at Polk Audio.... (@Micah Cohen see Polk Audio)...that PolkFest benefits me in the way of gear or whatnot as it's not why we host PF......so I want it to somehow benefit the forum.

I have another potential thing come across this morning that makes a lot of sense.....the details of which I'm not really at liberty to disclose but I think would serve a pretty good purpose.

... or maybe the closer from Warren Zevon's eponymous album (ca. 1976)? :)

I think if you are wanting to check out the R200's it's probably smarter to take Polk up on the offer.....if you don't like them you could sell 'em at even money.....and the shipping on these would be substantial...
