Polk DSW Pro 660 constant static/hum

Hi,
My Polk DSW Pro 660 recently started outputting a constant static/hum sound.
I disconnected the LFE line input from my receiver and the sound still remains. The sound increases/decreases with the volume control.
The sub is no longer under warranty so that is not an option.
Any ideas as to the cause of the static/hum?
I read on some sites that it may be related to a ground loop issue with other components in the system, but I haven't tested/tried anything because I don't want to make things worse.
Thanx in advance.

I had a similar issue on my DSW 660 Pro wireless. Pulled the amp out and it was a mess. Lots of discoloration and some melted bits. I swapped the amp (wireless was discontinued) so I went without it. Works great now going on couple of years. Added Rocketfish wireless.

Hi verb, did you get the same amplifier or replace it with something else? I never used the wireless so it's not required for me. I don't suppose you have the model number of your new amplifier?
