Musical Fidelity DAC

I have a Musical Fidelity MX-DAC in black For Sale, this one: https://upscaleaudio.com/products/musical-fidelity-mx-dac

I bought it two months ago as an open box customer return from TMR for $750, it's in 9/10 condition. Looks new. Original box, power adapter and manual.

Asking $600 shipped.

Looks like a nice DAC. GLWTS. Did you do a review/comparison of this one?

Hey Jody. I did briefly, but not extensively, evaluate this DAC on my desktop setup using my PC as a source via USB, then the MX-DAC's XLR output to the Benchmark HPA4 connected to Focal Shape 40s and Rythmik L12.

It reinforced the fact that my ears, and the type of music I listen to primarily, do not get along all that well with upsampling. I guess I am overly sensitive to upsampling DACs, it just seems like they're not for me.

LOL! Probably! I also have an extremely sensitive sense of smell. Which is most often a curse more than a blessing.

What a great FS thread. "I cant stand how this sounds........someone should buy it!!"

I'll be stuck with this thing forever...

I LOVED the musical fidelity DAC I had recently. The only reason it lost to the NAD I kept was some features. I thought the SQ was excellent…

I’ve also still had good success on audiogon. If you pay up front the fee is very reasonable, and I have sold a number of items over the last few years with zero issues fwiw…

Surely someone here needs to convert those nasty digital signals into lovely analog waveforms.
