New SDA-1C's Best Tweeter?

Hi All. I have been absent from the forum for a while, but I am a new member of the SDA club!!
After tooling around with my LSi-9's for many months I finally after 15 years of wanting a pair found a pair of SDA's for sale locally. I had the cash and the seller wasn't far away. I am the proud daddy of a pair of studio SDA-1C's.
The seller had been a polk fan for some time, also owning the 3.2's, and he had a box of tweeters he said he might as well give me as well. There are 3 loose, beat up SL 2000's, 3 good looking boxed SL 2000's and 4 good looking boxed SL 3000's. I have not verified the operational status of any of them yet.
The SDA-1C's appear to have SL 2000's in them now. My question is would the SL 3000's be an upgrade, assuming the 4 boxed ones all work, or should I stick with the 2000's?
Alas I am also shopping for a new amp, as the SDA's laugh at my Hafler HD220, and the tweets cut out with the volume at 10:00. I am nursing the volume till I can get a hold of a vintage Carver to save the tweets.
Appreciate any advice on the 2000 vrs 3000 tweets.

    Congrats on your find.

No, you can not use the SL3000's. The crossovers are different and it won't sound right.

Sell them all (including the ones in your SDA's), and buy the RD0194-1 silk replacement jobbies - then put the remainder towards your amp upgrade and beer.

Hadn't heard of the RD0194-1 before. Are you running them in your SDA's? Is that some kinda modern hybrid, like they crossed an SL series with some plant genes or something :-)
    How do they sound?

    Got nothing against beer money

Yes, I use them in my SRS 2's, and have used them in a pair of CRS+ and used the RD0198-1 (SL2500/3000 replacement) in a pair of 15tl's.

They are lovely woven silk domes, no plastic and no freq 'spike' ala SL2000. Night and day difference, for the better.

You could EASILY move the 4 boxed SL3000's for the price of the replacements. All the rest is cash in your pocket.

    Russ-

I don't see this model, (RD0194-1) listed in the tweeter parts section, where do you find it?

Call Ken, it's what everyone keeps referring to as the 2000T I believe.

I don't even bother with the parts listing, if I need something, I go straight to 'the man'.

By the way..the guy I purchased these from did not have the manual. By chance do any of you SDA gurus have the manual in a PDF file?

By the way Russ, you'll be pleased to know I found some real amplification for these babies and should have my new TFM-45 in about a week. I've noticed that you have used one with your SDA's, so I'm confident I've got a suitable audio marriage there.
