Pioneer VSX-1121 Not Detecting PSW10

New PSW10 replacing 20+ year old Yamaha subwoofer. Receiver cannot detect PSW10 through MCACC or manually. Same single RCA connection as previous sub, which is the only option with this receiver. Tried both L and R inputs, Volume and Low Pass both turned clockwise, as recommended in both manuals. Auto Power turned off, as I power this sub through a separate power strip I simply turn off when not using. Phase set to 0, but I tried both settings. Even switched cables, and still nothing. I think I've exhausted all my options. Any ideas?

First thing I'd do is make sure the sub is operational. Plug a CD/DVD/BRD player directly into the sub. Slowly turn the volume up on the sub, you should get sound unless the amp is faulty or there's a loose wire or something from shipping.

If it works, maybe there's a setting on your AVR that you're missing. Sub set to on/yes?

I did try setting up the sub through the receiver manually. That process where the "hiss" runs through each speaker and you adjust the levels. Heard nothing when I adjusted the sub. Otherwise, I was just using this system last weekend and the previous sub worked fine. I just unplugged that sub and plugged in this sub, so he A/V settings never changed.
