Saw him several years ago. He's in a special league of blues artists and underappreciated IMO.➀Speakers: Polk1.2tl's (Uber Mods) ➁Pre/Amp/DAC: PS Audio BHK Signature & 250, DirectStream ➂Cables/IC's: MIT S1Bi-Wire/S1 Balanced +Avel Lindberg 1000VA "Dreadnought" ➃Power Conditioner: PS Audio P15 Power Plant ➄Power Cords: Core Power Technologies Gold, DH Labs Power Plus DIY w/Neotech NC-P301 & P311ends ➅Streaming: Roon ROCK on wifi'd NUC, TP-Link WAP, & Uptone EtherREGEN, AfterDark, Emperor Double Crown Clock, Black Modernize LPS, PS Audio AirLens⟿Ω☯☥☮⟿🔊♩♪♫♬♩♪♫♬♩♪♫♬

Repeat: Just Damn!:
Turning into a concert!
Love those Crossroads videos. First heard Robert Cray on the Crossroads video from Chicago 2010.
Another guy I discovered on that video that I really like:

Keb' Mo' at Crossroads Guitar Festival 2010

Classic, I remember when "Strong persuader" first came out, I wanted to learn the guitar, but I had absolutely no music skills..

Thanks for the posts here. It’s great to hear these guys. Looking forward to hearing LIVE MUSIC at some point, maybe later this year.

Nothing beats a good live performance. It can't happen soon enough.

My first blues concert was a legend trio in the early 90's; BB King, Boby Blue Bland and Albert King in one billing. I was ruined...a high bar to reach for future concerts. Sadly, all 3 are gone.
Another of the greats...Buddy Guy. Saw him twice in 2013. Solo and when he opened for George Thorogood. Seventy-three years old and they had to tell him to stop playing so Thorogood could start. Fortunately, Buddy's still touring at 85 years young.

Was excited to see Joe Bonamassa, tickets in hand last March, but the concert was cancelled.
He's a student of the masters and a modern day tour de force keeping the blues alive. To bring this post full circle and back to @Jazzhead's Robert Cray topic, check out what Bonamassa's website has to say about Cray...https://jbonamassa.com/robert-cray-soulful-blues/➀Speakers: Polk1.2tl's (Uber Mods) ➁Pre/Amp/DAC: PS Audio BHK Signature & 250, DirectStream ➂Cables/IC's: MIT S1Bi-Wire/S1 Balanced +Avel Lindberg 1000VA "Dreadnought" ➃Power Conditioner: PS Audio P15 Power Plant ➄Power Cords: Core Power Technologies Gold, DH Labs Power Plus DIY w/Neotech NC-P301 & P311ends ➅Streaming: Roon ROCK on wifi'd NUC, TP-Link WAP, & Uptone EtherREGEN, AfterDark, Emperor Double Crown Clock, Black Modernize LPS, PS Audio AirLens⟿Ω☯☥☮⟿🔊♩♪♫♬♩♪♫♬♩♪♫♬ -

Great links posted above. Quite a "concert"
Buddy Guy is a God. Here's cut from his most raw, intense album - Sweet Tea (my favorite). Buckle up:

This is really becoming a decent thread with some real Jazz experts, Enjoying the links thanks!

I somehow lost Robert off the radar after "Take Your Shoes Off". Maybe saw him once on an NPR Tiny Desk concert? We did catch him live at Wolftrap in 2007 or 2008 and he delivered an excellent performance, great backing musicians. So, I'm six albums behind it seems from his discography. How would you all rate those gap albums, any must hear singles come to mind? Thanks!

JayCee and et-all,
I posted this pic of Keb'Mo' a few weeks back in the Picture thread but I will post it again. I have seen him only one time in Savannah in 2014 at a small theater. After the concert, he came out to the front of the theater to visit with the people who were at the counter looking at his merchandise. Greeted everyone.
Another great musical show I watched regularly was Daryl's House. Lot's of great music on that show. Here is Keb'Mo' with Daryl Hall on the show. They did five songs as well as a dinner.

Very nice. I missed the Keb pic in the other thread. Thanks for re-posting. Haven't met him but did meet and get a pic w/BB King. He was very gracious and, at a later date, my parents were invited to meet him in his hotel room after a show. He sat in a robe, eating his dinner, thanking them for attending the concert.
I really enjoyed King's autobiography. Remarkable to read his story and experiences. As he became famous his own community kind of shunned him; a painful time but shaped his outlook moving forward. Not a perfect man but very humble.

It's been a while for me, too. Last album I picked up was in 2006 when, ironically, I was deployed to the far east in support of the GWOT. Picked it up at the BX without any knowledge of the album title and accompanying song, Twenty. Turns out to be an anti-war song. Was striking because I was at a location that shuttled thousands of my brothers in arms to and from major battle areas. I watched young kids cycle through, bright eyed and bushy tailed as I visited the chow hall, followed by the guys returning from down-range that looked dead in the soul. Not trying to make a point, one way or another, but it was rather poignant. Kind of what the "Blues" are all about, isn't it? I enjoy the album.

Cray's "Midnight Stroll" is also a great recording. I would audition gear with it.
