Signa S3 sound switches to TV speakers randomly

I got a Signa S3 system a few months ago. Overall I really enjoy it, though randomly during its use the soundbar will switch off or switch to TV speakers only. Over a 3 hour period of use, this will happen at least once sometimes twice. This effect will last for 2 or 3 seconds and then return to normal.
Not the remote. I've ensured all the wires are secure and fully plugged in on both the bar and the TV. Looking for any other ideas as it's likely too late to return/exchange as its been about 4 months since we get it, and it didn't start doing this immediately.
