I just learned today that those mittens were knitted about 2 miles from my present location.

That means that you've been exposed and more than likely are infected and contaminated

Is it just me, or does the guy in orange (behind Kirk, in front of William Schallert) look an awful lot like PS Audio's Paul McGowan?
(of course, ol' Paul was probably about 13 when The Trouble with Tribbles was made)

PS William Schallert was one of those veteran character actors who was all over TV and films for a couple of decades... but he also played Patty Duke's father on The Patty Duke Show.

That is actor Whit Bissell. -

Cr@p, really?! Whit Bissell! Dang.
He was another of those veteran character actors who was everywhere in those days.
In fact, he was an inside joke at our house when I was growin' up. If we were ever trying to come up,retrospectively, with an actor in a role in a movie or TV show -- one of us would exclaim "Whit Bissell!" to the delight of all. Of course, ironically -- sometimes it was Whit Bissell. He was kind of the Zelig of those days.
EDIT: Crud. Not the black jacket guy; the orange shirt guy. OK, I feel less foolish now.
-
Of course -- now I must reflect on the Whit Bissell/Paul McGowan connection...

I was chatting online with someone a moment ago about the Haskell Free Library, which is (partly) in Derby Line, VT -- and partly in Canada. I was then struck by a wry thought.

@KennethSwauger that image from the "Overlook Hotel" (I swear at first I thought it said "Overlea Hotel" ) puts me to mind of the inner jacket art of an iconic 1970s album -- I'll get back to all y'all in a minute.

As everybody knows there is a ghost, evil apparation, or just an extra from the photoshoot lurking in the murky shadows of the mezzanine above the lobby of the... umm... Hotel California. Some say it's Anton LeVay, founder of the Church of Satan.
see, e.g., https://blackjacketsymphony.wordpress.com/2012/05/17/revisit-the-hotel-california/
and http://www.feelnumb.com/2017/03/17/eagles-hotel-california-back-gatefold-photo-location-ghost-lido-hollywood/
Now, of course, in 2021, we know better.
