Not gonna happen. Most likely GM will drop the gas Camaro.
Or just pull the plug.Sales volume has dropped.
Ford has already set up to push the electric Mustang
and drop the gas version.
My guess Dodge will be the last domestic gas sports car.

The e mustang is a more SUV I thought.

The e mustang is a more SUV I thought.
so far it is -- at any rate.
if it's successful, rest assured -- the Camaro & Corvette SUVs will be comin' right behind it.

Electric is about to be the new order of things.
I think the E Mustang was a marketing ploy to
test the waters.
The future of the Camaro is in question.
I doubt they would do the mid-engine thing to a Camaro
since they already have it covered with the Corvette.
The options are:
a. do nothing
b. minor tweek for 2022
c. drop the lineup
d. go electric
Minimum average fleet fuel MPG standards are about to be hiked big
time and GM needs to find a way to boost theirs without
losing any profitable trunk/SUV lines.
Ford and GM have dropped or are about to drop most gas sedans.
The path forward is pretty obvious."The legitimate powers of government extend to such acts only as are injurious to others. But it does me no injury for my neighbour to say there are twenty gods, or no god. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg." --Thomas Jefferson -

The US finally becomes oil independent and the loonies want to shove all that FAR from green battery crap down our throats. No thanks!!!Political Correctness'.........defined

Yeppers.
2035, for GM.
I apologize that both of these are more or less behind paywalls Today's news, though.

They're smart. CA and MA will ban sales of (new) ICE vehicles in 2035, and the boomer generation will be mostly gone and completely old (i.e., too old to matter economically for automobiles).
