Monitor series 4.5. Both tweeters not working

Hi all.

I recently purchased a set of Polk audio monitor series 4.5 “bookshelf speakers”. They worked fantastic for about two weeks. Then, I lost both tweeters. The sound is just flat. Is it the tweeter or the cross over?

    I'd bet you fried the tweeters.

    Check your crossovers for any obvious heat related damage. If everything checks out ok then perhaps the problem is going to be tweeter failure.

    Did you recently go crazy with the volume? Either way I have stock crossovers and tweeters for your particular model. I'll dig then out of the parts boneyard.

    Just test the tweeters themselves unplugged from xo. Use ohm setting on meter you should get something getting nothing means fried voice coil. If it is the sl2000/sl1000 you should get close to 8ohms if it is the sl1500 square tweeter I'm not sure.
