Should I get an AVR or a Guitar amp?

My AVR is a little long in the tooth but I hardly ever use it. I want a Fender Twin that I will hardly ever use but I wanted one since I emerged from the primordial soup. Who would you do?

If you get one of those googlephonic* multi-channel AVR things, you could run a whole freakin' band off of it, right?

Did you get thermal clothes yet? Don't leave us hanging.afterburnt wrote: »They didn't speak a word of English, they were from South Carolina.

Yeah, I got the Duofold but now I am thinking I need body armour more than an amp. -
In with Twin"if it's not fun, it's not worth it & remember folks, "It's All About The Music"!!

If you're not out gigging, why would ya need a Twin? I had a wonderful Vibrolux Reverb but when our band split I sold it.
-
What's "need" got to do with it?

@afterburnt
The Twin Reverbs are hard to beat. Good choice!
Oh yeah, do yourself a favor and get a looper ($100 to $whatever$). It makes playing at home for fun a LOT more fun. Enjoy! -
Go with the Twin, they are a lifetime amp as receivers are not.Dan
My personal quest is to save to world of bad audio, one thread at a time. -
On order and I saved enough to get a plate carrier with plates!
-
So, how's the new amp (or, plate carrier and plates)?

The amp is badass but the plate carrier is not hear yet. I am waiting for the armor before I turn the amp up to 10. -

Did her Tele just turn into a Les Paul? -
I was thinking about a Marshall stack for the dining room but that Orange amp would look better.

BTW I got another amp, a Tech 21 Trademark 60 1x12 Combo.

I watched a demo video online, pretty cool settings features. I picture you more of a "growler" than a "puncher". -
I got to put it through the paces but I am not any one thing, maybe that's why I can't get it together. I want to be a blues/jazz/metal player.
-
That's quite a range, but an admirable goal.
If you're feeling "stuck", as we all do pretty regularly, I really urge you to get a loop effects box. It allows you to lay down what you know or feel, so far, of a song/solo/riff and build on it. Forces you to play more dimensionally and improves timing. Pick up something on eBay used for $50 to $100 and give it a whirl before moving up in features. -
I might have an old recorder from 6th grade. Can I be in the band? I might still be able to play Alouette. I'll get first choice of the groupies, of course, because I'll be the main guy.I disabled signatures.

Funny ...my wife bought one of the recorder/flutes we had as a child for the grandkids a couple weeks ago.
I remembered how to play Alouette and a couple other songs on it. She was actually impressed (been awhile...lol) as neither of us have been instrumental in years.

You're both in! Can't wait to hear some of the double recorder leads.
